I had a wonderful time at Sungai Kuantan yesterday. My company and others in Gebeng Industrial Estate will be organising a Scrap Book Competition for school childrens. The topic is on mangrove. In order to give them some ideas, we plan to bring them for a river cruise including mangrove walk. Therefore, the committees went for a recce yesterday to check on the safety aspects and to see the mangroves itself. Cik Hafizah, our tour guide from Majlis Perbandaran Kuantan (MPK) was really courteous, helpful and very knowledgable. I'm sure the kids will enjoy the trip and can gain useful information from this tour as much as we did

On 21st December we had a simple majlis berendoi and aqiqah for Khadijah and Aniq Azrai (my latest nephew). The majlis was held at my mil's home in Teluk Intan. Perak is very well known for it's majlis berendoi and berzanji for newborns. In KD's case, terpaksa buat lambat sikit sebab nak sekalikan dengan Aniq.

For the majlis, my mil's group performed the berzanji. KD and Aniq were placed in a buaian made and decorated by me and my sisters in law. The kain buaian must be in 3 layers. Kalau anak raja, 7 layers. The berzanji started at 10 am and ended by 12 pm. After that everyone was feasted with early lunch. We served nasi putih with ayam masak burma (not kurma tau), ayam masak lemak kuning, ikan goreng, sambal jawa and acar buah (complimentary of Abg Zali's dad, my bro in law). After solat Jumaat, the men pulak datang baca doa selamat and makan.

As a gesture of appreciation, the berzanji team was given a goodie bag consisted of a small towel, sweets, bunga telur and 2 cupcakes (from me and my mom). I ordered my cupcakes from Marvel Cakes. Thanks Amy!!! The cuppies were so cute and delicious too. My mom aka mumsie also ordered cupcakes (not knowing that I also ordered back then) from her favourite and the famous bakery in Seremban- Gharizah. But it's just the simple cuppy. No cute butter cream deco like mine . So other guests were given either my cuppy or my mom's.
